Celebrating International Self-Care Day with Owlet

July 24, 2023

Happy International Self-Care Day! Life is full of challenges, obligations, and endless to-do lists, but prioritizing self-care is equally important.

International Self-Care Day was developed by the International Self-Care Foundation as an occasion to take notice of your body and mind — whether through physical movement, meditation, a relaxing bath or whatever else works for you. In the midst of our busy lives, taking a moment to recharge and care for ourselves is not just a luxury; it's a necessity. Self-care isn't selfish – it's an essential act of self-preservation.

Whether you’re new to self-care or just need some inspiration today, the Owlet Marketing team shares their top self-care tips:

My self-care looks different every day. I love taking long walks alone while listening to my favorite podcasts. If there’s no time for that, I love peanut butter out of the jar with chocolate chips.” - Krista W.

My favorite form of self-care is binging reality shows. Whether it’s “The Bachelor” or “Love Island” (UK version only!), it’s super important for me to disconnect from my own reality and get lost in the truly crazy lives of others.” - Valerie F.

As a working mom with two little ones, finding time for self-care can be a challenge but it’s more important than ever. These days, my favorite way to take care of myself is waking up early, doing a quick morning yoga flow, and having a glass of water with lemon before my family wakes.” - Amanda N.

I love going on walks for self-care. It’s always nice to get off my phone (I’ll admit, scrolling TikTok is another favorite form of self-care!) and get outside. I love going to new neighborhoods to mix things up and will usually throw on a podcast or some music. The Bad Broadcast, How I Built This, or anything Taylor Swift are some of my go-to’s.” - Ashley P.

Like Amanda, I have two little ones so self-care time is limited. I have been making it a point to workout 4-5 days per week though. Mostly this is walking for 30 minutes on my portable treadmill before bed. I will turn on one of my shows or listen to music too. After doing this for several months now, I’ve gotten into the habit of making sure I workout and look forward to it!” - Marissa H.
